Has Anything Changed?

This is what a town hall meeting looked like in the 1940s when Armand headed the WVU Public Affairs Club. It's a brief entry but as you'll see, it speaks volumes. Just as Armand did.

June 5, 1948.
Public Affairs Club had its last meeting Tuesday, May 11. Al Sturm is new pres. Year's program under me:

March: Prof. Matthews: HEALTH INSURANCE
April: Senator Glenn Taylor: Special Meeting to discuss his platform
May: R.S. Shahan of Gen. Construction Co.: THE BUILDING PICTURE IN MORGANTOWN TODAY

All the talks except Matthews' (he can't talk) were from good to fine.

 

Awesome!

"I find it rather amusing, the way the word 'awesome' is used these days," Armand offered. "A woman at dinner last night kept saying that the meal was awesome. Well, the meaning of awe, I believe, comes from the Greek word achos, which means pain. I don't think she meant to say that the meal was painful. Well, so much for that."

I remembered that conversation when I came upon this article today, It would be "awesome" if "Tom/Kat" "went missing". Armand is so far ahead of the crowd. He's awesome prescient.
