The first class of a six-week course on the Mother Sequence begins tonight at 6pm. The Mother Sequence was conceived years ago by Jehangir Palkhivala, of Mumbai, India. It has proved effective in relieving a variety of physical and emotional problems for people all over the world. In addition, regular practitioners have reported being rewarded with an overriding sense of peace and well being. I am fortunate to be one of those peole.
At the very least, it offers a comprehensive series that will serve as a powerful asana foundation, It consists of:
- 12 Suryanamaskaras (sun salutes)
- The Five Tibetan Rites
- 2 standing poses
- 3 seated poses
- 4 inversions
- 5 finishing poses
Once the sequence, and the elegance of the postures have been experienced, then the pursuit of even finer benefits begins. Asana becomes Yoga!
