How can you not feel good about a host who puts out a spread like this? Ulei Retreat instructors, Geno, Barbara and Ronona, met one evening at Hale Hookena. Owner John Griffey, made a sweeping arm gesture that led us to a Koa dining table burdened by the weight of all the food prepared by Chef Jessie. This is a picture of our appetizer and salad. What followed was an ono (tasty, not the fish) lobster dinner.
After months of work, both Hale Hookena and Ulei Retreats are ready to share the best that the Big Island has to offer.
